Lawmakers cannot appear in court of judge facing impeachment: Bar Council of India
The lawmakers seeking a judge's impeachment cannot appear in his or her court as a lawyer, the Bar Council of India (BCI) decided on Saturday. The apex bar body has decided to allow members of Parliament and legislative assemblies to practise as advocates but said that those who move an impeachment motion against any judge of the higher judiciary will not be allowed to appear before that court.
