Flag hoisting celebrations in over 2,000 village panchayats in the Valley on the approaching Independence Day would be the touchstone for the announcement of the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP leadership intends to cover each and every village with a flag hoisting event in India's troubled state on the eve of the national festival. If all goes well, the countdown for the much-awaited polls in Jammu and Kashmir would begin soon.
